Federal Sales Executive—EV Charging

Beam Global is a clean technology innovator that patents, manufactures, and sells electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure that is 100% renewable and offers energy security and energy resiliency; key differentiators uniquely suited for federal government priorities. We are looking for an established federal sales professional to join our federal sales team. The Executive Orders and federal initiatives to electrify the 675,000-strong fleet of government vehicles are driving explosive EV charging growth. The US is embarking on massive initiatives to install EV chargers and can’t add them fast enough. Beam Global has the fastest deployed EV charging infrastructure solution on the market, and these products are on the GSA-MAS contract.

Your Role

In this critical sales role, you bring a successful track record, deep federal experience and a love for selling. Enthusiasm and a passion for building a better future need to come through in your approach. You will create and identify buying opportunities, develop relationships with key stakeholders, and work opportunities to closure. This will require the management of numerous large-scale revenue opportunities across a variety of agencies. If you have experience with the transportation and/or energy sectors, that would be a major benefit. You thrive in a fast- paced sales environment, are creative, independent, focused and an excellent problem solver. This role can be remote, based in San Diego or based in Chicago.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Meet and exceed individual revenue and outreach targets
  • Qualify and develop new business opportunities from your network, government resources, contract posting sources and emerging federal initiatives
  • Maintain an active pipeline of active opportunities to meet quarterly and annual objectives
  • Perform sales presentations and demonstrations to customers and prospects
  • Excellent written communication skills with a professional ‘no-typos’ polish
  • Light travel to manage relationships with key customer contacts, present, articulate/clarify value and differentiation, and win the business in expected timeframes
  • Willing and able to be detail oriented and hands-on with managing government requirements, contracts and procurement processes
  • Develop big-picture selling strategies to penetrate deep into agencies for EV charging needs
  • Accurately forecast revenue for accounts, maintain contact information, business history and opportunity details in salesforce continuously
  • Develop a strong technical baseline through training and development

What You Bring

  • 5-10 years of federalsales experience required
  • High EQ with the ability to connect with buyers and guide them through the buying cycle
  • Highly persuasive and a natural collaborator
  • A history of success in developing, driving and closing business and achieving targets
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Experience in clean technology, sustainability, automotive a plus; EV charging even better but not required.
  • Excellent social and presentation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent minimum
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver on commitments
  • Experience using SalesForce.com
