Former Navy SEAL Chief Warrant Officer Joins Envision Solar to Lead Sales and Business Development
SAN DIEGO, CALIF. – (Nov. 10, 2016) – Envision Solar International, Inc., (OTCQB: EVSI) (“Envision Solar,” or the “Company”), the leading renewable energy, media and branding and EV charging product company, on-boards former SEAL, James Byrne to lead the sales and business development team. Byrne was recruited with the help of The Honor Foundation, which provides executive education, professional development, career coaching, and transition management to US Special Operations Forces.
In his new role, Byrne will be responsible for continuing the growth and oversight of Envision’s sales and business development team and evolving national and international sales and partnering strategies for Envision’s unique and highly valuable product offerings.
Byrne brings 26 years of Special Operations experience building, training and leading cross-functional teams to solve the nation’s most complex problems in the most unforgivable environments. While on Active Duty as a member of SEAL Team One and Special Reconnaissance Team One (SRT-1), he completed 13 overseas deployments including two to Iraq and five to Afghanistan. Most recently, he served as the Clandestine Operations Officer (N3X) for (SRT-1) working across organizational cultures in support of national security objectives. His ability to build innovative high performing teams in the midst of ambiguity and uncertainty, has uniquely prepared him for success with Envision. Jim is pursuing a Master of Science in Executive Leadership (MSEL) at the University of San Diego.
“Jim has obviously had a great history of leading in the most challenging conditions,” said Desmond Wheatley, CEO of Envision Solar. “Less obvious is that he has spent a large part of his career selling capabilities and value propositions to national and international governments and others. We’re thrilled to have him join us to help fight the ultimate in good fights – profitable, environmentally sound and sustainable business that makes the world a better place for us all.”
“I am excited to be a part of the Envision team,” said Jim Byrne, Director of Sales and Business Development at Envision Solar. “My transition goal after military service was to continue to live a life of purpose in service to others. What higher purpose than helping people drive on sunshine, preserving our environment for our children’s future. I look forward to helping Envision grow. It’s a great team with a great mission.”
“As Valedictorian of a four-month transition institute tailored for SpecOps leaders, Jim demonstrated his unique skill set, values and ethos as a Navy SEAL Chief Warrant Officer, through action in a steep learning curve and mastery of new crafts,” said Joe Musselman, President and CEO of the Honor Foundation. “I predict his impact on Envision Solar, leading fast and nimble teams to disrupt and innovate, will be significant. Envision Solar’s culture and mission align to ours, and continue to impact the world.”
