Envision Solar’s EV ARC™ Solar-Powered EV Charging Station is Featured at ALTCar Expo at the California State Capitol
SAN DIEGO, CALIF. — (May 09, 2016) – Envision Solar International, Inc., (OTCQB: EVSI) (“Envision Solar,” or the “Company”), the leading renewable energy, media and branding and EV charging product company, announced today that its EV ARC™ product is featured at AltCar Expo, the largest array of alternative fuel vehicles ever assembled at the California State Capitol on Monday, May 9. The event is taking place on the west steps of the State Capitol and is free and open to the public, fleet managers and policymakers.
Since being awarded the California State Contract #1-15-61-16, Envision Solar has delivered EV ARC™ units to Caltrans, California Department of General Services, the California State University System, Office of Inspector General and other governmental organizations in the U.S. and overseas. This expo will be an opportunity for other state organizations and the general public to be exposed to the only transportable solar-powered EV charging solution available today.
Leaders from the Brown administration and Legislature will be on hand to show their support for alternative fuel and clean air initiatives and to learn about opportunities to help accelerate the use of alternative fuel vehicles in the communities they represent. Participating in AltCar aligns with Governor Brown’s goals of reducing vehicle emissions and combating climate change. Several state agencies are leading by example by driving electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids, and other zero-emission vehicles available on state contracts.
“As we continue to grow our government business, we are excited that our EV ARC is being showcased at this iconic location,” said Desmond Wheatley, CEO of Envision Solar. “The State of California has always been a leader in reducing pollution related to transportation and continues to represent a very large opportunity for our company as we grow our business in government and enterprise across the U.S. and internationally.”
Invented and manufactured in California, the EV ARC™ product fits inside a parking space and does not reduce available parking in any way. It generates enough clean, solar electricity to power up to 150 miles of EV driving each day. The system’s solar electrical generation is enhanced by the patented EnvisionTrak™ system, which causes the array to follow the sun, generating 18 to 25% more electricity than a fixed array. The energy is stored in the EV ARC™ product’s energy storage for charging day or night. Because the EV ARC™ product requires no trenching, foundations or installation work of any kind, it is deployed in minutes and can be moved to a new location with ease. EV ARC™ products are manufactured in the Company’s San Diego facility by combat veterans, the disabled, minorities and other highly talented, mission-driven team members.
There are more than 500,000 electric vehicles on the road in the U.S. today and Tesla recently announced over 400,000 preorders for its new Model 3, while General Motors will release its new 200-mile range Chevrolet Bolt EV at the end of 2016. These are all great indications that EV adoption will continue to accelerate in the coming years.
